01 · How it started
A tired that sleep couldn't touch
It began quietly — fatigue, brain fog, a low hum of wrong I kept explaining away as stress. I was busy. Everyone's tired. So I pushed through, for longer than I should have.
02 · The spiral
One body, every system
Then it spread. Double vision and vertigo. Numbness in both arms and legs. Migrating joint pain. Heart palpitations. Sleep that stopped working. It was never one thing — it was everything, at once.
03 · The mind, too
I thought I was losing myself
Crying spells that lasted days. Mood swings I couldn't steer. Zero emotional control. The scariest part wasn't the pain — it was feeling like I couldn't trust my own brain.

“Nonspecific.”
Every scan came back nonspecific. I was worked up for MS, lupus, RA — specialist after specialist. And more than once the verdict was the same: it's anxiety, it's stress, it's in your head.
05 · The turn
I stopped being dismissed and started being worked up
The turn wasn't a new symptom — it was a decision. The problem wasn't my body lying to me; no one had run the right tests. So I stopped accepting “it's in your head” and went looking for the data.

One panel changed the whole map
In June 2025 I ran a full integrative workup through Envita — five reports, read as one story. A comprehensive Tickborne 2.0 panel instead of the standard two-tier: Lyme across strains, the bacterial co-infections, the viral load underneath, mold, gut, methylation. The whole battlefield, on one sheet.
07 · What lit up
Not lupus. Not “nothing.” Lyme.
The autoimmune panel came back clean — ruling out lupus and RA, the meaningful negative I'd chased for years. What lit up instead was the real answer: neurological Lyme. My immune system had built antibodies against Borrelia across multiple strains, plus a stack of co-infections and two viral markers running high — hard proof these organisms had been in my body and my body had been fighting them. Layered under it: two elevated mold toxins and a gut and methylation picture.

A name, and a way forward
The reason the antibodies read as long-standing is exactly the point: this had been in me for years while everyone looked at the wrong thing. Six years of “nonspecific” finally had a name. I'm treating it, still rebuilding — and for the first time, climbing with a map instead of in the dark.

A clean autoimmune panel ruled out lupus and RA. PCR looks for live bacteria in the blood — routinely negative by the time Lyme is this established and hiding in tissue, so it takes nothing away from the antibody proof above.
What the numbers actually mean
The antibodies are the proof: my body built a response to Borrelia across strains and a stack of co-infections — these organisms were in my system, and neurological Lyme is what it added up to. A negative PCR (active-DNA) test doesn't undo that; in late, disseminated Lyme the bacteria hide in tissue and rarely show up in a blood draw. The hardest part isn't the test — it's finding someone trained to read it and treat the root cause. Start here, and ask on the first call: do you test for tick-borne co-infections and mold? Are you familiar with ILADS protocols? Will you review outside labs?
Lyme, Bartonella, Babesia, EBV and mold-related illness aren't one disease — they hit multiple biological systems at once: persistent immune activation, chronic inflammation, oxidative and mitochondrial stress, endothelial and connective-tissue injury, gut-barrier breakdown. That's why the research on these compounds is organized by mechanism, not by diagnosis. Below is how I've come to group it.
What the evidence actually says
No peptide is an established, proven treatment for Lyme, Bartonella, Babesia, EBV or mold illness in humans. Much of this is preclinical or early-stage — mechanistic hypotheses, not cures. This is a research map to explore with a clinician, not a protocol.

Studied extensively for immune modulation in chronic viral infection and immune dysfunction — T-cell function, innate immunity, and the chronic viral immune response (with theoretical relevance to EBV persistence).
Tissue & joint repair
BPC-157 · TB-500
Animal research on tendon, ligament, gut and soft-tissue healing (BPC-157) and on wound healing, angiogenesis and connective-tissue repair (TB-500) — where chronic inflammation drives secondary musculoskeletal symptoms.
Neuroinflammation
Selank · Semax
Investigated for neuroimmune signaling and anxiety models (Selank) and neuroprotection and BDNF signaling after neurologic injury (Semax). No established evidence in tick-borne illness specifically.
Mitochondrial / energy
MOTS-c · Humanin · SS-31
Chronic infection often involves mitochondrial dysfunction. These are studied for oxidative stress, ATP production and mitochondrial protection (SS-31 / Elamipretide is the most clinically advanced).

An alpha-MSH fragment investigated in inflammatory bowel disease and inflammatory signaling — TNF-α, IL-1 and NF-κB pathways.

GHK-Cu · ARA-290
Some chronic infections involve endothelial dysfunction. GHK-Cu is studied for tissue remodeling; ARA-290 as an innate-repair-receptor agonist.
Host defense (antimicrobial)
LL-37 · Defensins
The body's own antimicrobial peptides — cathelicidins and defensins — with demonstrated lab activity against bacteria, fungi and some viruses. An active research area, not an established therapy.
